Frozen Memory

Run across the moonlit
and bring forth what was lost.
Sway towards the fire burning
and take away thy thirst for you.
Maybe the starts aren’t on my side
for they snatched the light towards your way;
perhaps the constellations haven’t drawn
your fate to cross mine in the land of forever.
It’s as if the universe dispelled your longing
and for a split second, I was forgotten.
Did the gods play blind and deaf to thy pleas
and misled you to someone else?
You belonged to me
but everyone kept us apart.
‘Til the end, I must be contented
that you were just once mine.
