Dear Humane Society,
(This letter is written as a form of revolution on how clearly you have understood the meaning of Equality.)
I used to kill myself a couple of times just because of this shit called Love. How we keep madly in love with each other and keep on doing so even if we’re just tasting a little no-fair share.
I didn’t know we had it from the start. When we first met, there was nothing! We didn’t have that “love at first sight” or that something you called, “sparks” or even that freaking moment where everything stops and slowly turns for a short while.
As the years ascended, these feelings bloom like a bosom of a rose turning fiercely into a red fully- grown flower. Believe me! We tried to change it. We even ignore it but… I surely love him! And I know he does too. But how did it all started to dim? When did it get so heavy?
It is really hard to make someone the center of your universe. To make that someone the momentum of your own game because by the time they leave you, everything will be off-balanced. It is like a domino fire burning wildly into the forests of your own desire.
How love keeps on quenching our thirst for trust and understanding was a mystery box. We’re starting to give up because mistrust suddenly knocks our door, yet we ignore its knocking because our phone rings and waiting in line is Love.
“If I speak in tongues of men and of angels, but not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”
You are the greatest when you had experienced love. This is a guarantee that somehow, we are doing the right thing even if we know how vocal you are to condemn our being.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
I have never been surer in my entire life than loving deeply a person. The person who I had never imagined to share a piece of my heart with. We’re just in-love! But how come you think of it as a deadly crime? Did we kill or mugged someone? What did we treason for? How did we threat your lives? Did we rebel on you?
“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hope, and always perseveres.”
We had a lot of break-ups but that would always turn into a “love at the second time around” and it would taste even sweeter. But not always, since the very first time you break us individually. You build a wall, a wall that separates us into two different and purely stranger’s world. You turn us into a stranger of our own self. You introduce depression to us.
“Love never fails. But where their are prophecy they will cease, where there are tongues they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away”
How love never fails, depends on how clean the environment is. In this society full of rodents, people who judge our personality based on gender; people who feel like saints of their own religion. They crucify us because their scripture tells that we don’t belong. There are only boys and girls. No rooms for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender. Being our-self is a crime. Wearing what we want; doing what we want to be; loving who we wanted to is against the society’s own narcissistic standards. How can we survive?
Is this how humane you are?
“Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face, Now I know in part: then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”
We once aspire for a rich society. We even dreamed for a society that is blessed of wealthy people, the wealth of dignity, humanism, great understanding, knowledge, of respect and love for others not of wealthiness in greed, brutality, selfishness, self- patriotism, and disrespect. In this world we are living now, we are tongue-tied; demoralized; we can’t even move; we can’t love freely. There is no freedom.
Is this what you call Equality?
“And now these three remained: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.”
We once believed that we can live peacefully but today’s a reality, and We can see how blinded, You people are. Can you just open your eyes and see a much clearer perspective of equality. Where everyone can feel loved and see each individual as a unique being. Boys can feel and act like a girl. Girls can feel and act as pungent as men. All genders must breathe in with freedom. Don’t poison us with your own principle. Don’t limit our identity. Don’t dictate what we should feel, act, and whom we should love. Let Us, explore our own-self and fly with all the colors of gender equality.
We are Humans. We feel. We cry. We smile, We have our own faith. We need freedom. Acceptance is the key. Hear us! Look at us, how you mirror your brethren. We are the son of God for we know there is God. Stop hating us. Stop torturing our human rights. We are just like You.
